Interview with Dr. Anne Watson, Author of FLASH! The Science Behind Intuition @post_hypnotic #interview

March 09, 2020 0 Comments

While I was receiving the visitor’s message, I knew that the lights, the vibrations, and the humming were not incidental; they all were vital to the message I was receiving, they all had something to do with how we get messages from light, including how I was currently getting the vision itself. What, inside me, was ready to receive messages from light?”

-- From FLASH! The Science Behind Intuition by Dr. Anne Watson

Book Description:

If we have intuitions (and we do) where do they come from? Where, in us, do they arrive? What, in us, allows us to receive and interpret them? And why? Why do we get them?
Fourteen years of research, often waiting for the science to catch up with a vision sent to me by the Universe, these questions are answered in lay terms for the wonderment and affirmation of those interested in energy from another plane.

Interview:

Welcome Dr. Watson! Your book, FLASH! THE SCIENCE BEHIND INTUITION is absolutely mesmerizing. Can you recount your earliest memory of being highly intuitive?
Age 22, already a teacher of behaviour disordered kids, on impulse, I tape recorded myself saying that one day I would do something important for humanity. I didn’t know what it was to be, only that it would be an invention. Age 62, under direction from the Universe, I discovered what I now call MindPhasing, where brainwaves that phase together form deep interpersonal connections, eradicating loneliness for the phasers.
Let’s say I wanted to strengthen my intuition. Where would I start?
Consciously develop the habit of asking the Universe before you act or speak in situations where you are not sure.  Where you are sure, that is your intuition confirming what you know. That is your path. Ask the Universe about what you should say to someone who is emotionally perturbed, or what you should do today during down time, or how is your mother (now on another vibrational plane), or what is the meaning of your life? All questions, big and small.

Is intuition and ESP basically the same thing?
I don’t think so. I don’t know enough about ESP except that I believe it is more like Remote Viewing, where you actively focus on a subject of attention in order to “read” it, to investigate and maybe enlighten it.
Yours is a good question. I am asking it of the Universe right now.
The given is ESP is open to everyone who seeks to know that particular object of investigation. It is public knowledge available to those who actively (and sometimes accidentally) seek it.
On the other hand, Intuition is your private messaging service from the Universe. No one will have your same intuitions, they are yours alone, and they are with you all the time, part of your life’s plan. You don’t have to actively focus on a subject, but you just have to ask for guidance and listen for an answer. Sometimes the intuition will just come to you, and feel so right, you take its advice and follow the path it opens for you.  It’s like tuning into a radio frequency and listening to what has been designed for you.
Short answer -- ESP public. Intuition private.
Dr. Watson:
In your book, you explain how light sends us visuals. Would you care to expand on that?
I believe the information we receive from light is holographic. We receive whole images, thoughts in ideas or in words, feelings… all from Source. But what is received from light does not stay as a holograph, but I think that’s how it arrives to us.
There are claims WE are holographs ourselves, so, if that is true, it wouldn’t surprise me if we receive the holographs in a lock-key hookup with receptors already primed for us, in a similar way that neurotransmitters lock-key with each other at points of synapse on dendrites. The same kind of “here we are, ready” with “okay, here we come” vibrational message exchange. But, this is just a guess.
So, I asked the Universe this good question. The answer was “Because light has no language, form is all it knows. It brings you form, you apply the language when you receive the form.” Wow! You see how I love talking to the Universe… so much smarter than I.
How did you develop your intuition? What’s the story behind that?
Long story short – I thought I was looking for God, and not finding anything God-like I could talk to and get answers from, after a friend of mine predicted I would. I was frustrated. I banged on the farmhouse table where I was living, and shouted “How can I pass my questions through YOU, if I don’t know where you are?” From the far corner of that kitchen came a deep, resonant voice that said, “Just ask.” I looked around for a person, so real was that voice. It repeated, “Just ask.”
So I did. And have been getting more and more in the habit of asking first, regretting nothing.  A Universe-guided life fills your heart and takes you to places you never thought to go.

Can you explain to us why it was important for you to write your book?
I had a vision. An unseen stranger came to my shoulder as I watched beams of light shine down on my bedroom wall, and the stranger told me this is how we receive information from another vibrational plane, in light, and the purpose is for people to listen to and to get in harmony with the messages, which are benevolent, so that their lives will run smoothly, more temperately. The stranger charged me with getting this information out to people. It was very scary at first, because back when I got this message, few people were open to vibrational messages from somewhere smarter than us. But the more I researched, the more I found my stranger to be right, the more I was sure it was very important for me to write this book.

A contract killer changed my life

The encounter inspired me to become a Crime Thriller writer.

He was a contract killer, and he was in my car!

I’d been lost, looking for West Thurrock in Essex, and asked a little old man in a shabby coat, on the opposite side of the road, the way. He offered to show me if I gave him a lift, and whilst I make it a rule never to give lifts to anyone I don’t know, I reasoned, he could hardly be a contract killer, could he. Could he? Of course not.

As we drove he casually informed me that he’d, ‘Done it for the Kray’s, mate.’ That would have been the notorious East London gangsters he was referring to, known to kill, or have killed, without conscience.

Once I’d dropped him off and recovered my composure, I realised I was looking at fodder for a short story. What then followed was a raft of short stories, including, ‘I am a Gigolo,’ something I told my wife when I first met her, and which almost ended our relationship before it had begun. That title is now the heading for a book of short stories.

Jokingly, over lunch, I told a fellow professional I’d once been a contract killer, and devised a story. He believed every word, and left me at some pains to disabuse him. That title, I am a Contract Killer, now heads a further collection of short stories.

Writer of scary short stories and full-length novels like The Lyme Regis Murders.

It’s been a fascinating journey… I hope you’ll want to share with me.

Can you tell us a little about the main characters?

Tammy Pierre, my main character in The Lyme Regis Murders, is from a mixed race background. Her father, Matthew Pierre is an architect from Trinidad who met Tammy's mother Pascale Hirsch, a Parisian Jewish woman from a wealthy banking family, when she was on holiday in Trinidad. The French influence in Trinidad, is apparent in Matthew's surname. He was fluent in French, and when he and Pascale returned to France he did well in his chosen profession with the help of her contacts. Pascale died ten years ago from breast cancer leaving a considerable sum of money which Tammy used to buy her father an apartment in the North-West London region of Queen's Park.

Tammy lives in a luxury apartment in the same area as her father with her live in lover, Ginny Jones, also her PA. Part educated in France, Tammy entered the police force in the UK at graduate level and was fast tracked to Detective Inspector. She left the force about five years ago to establish her own private enquiry agency Pierre Search and Security, which operates just off London's Bond Street. Tammy herself is a wayweard character. Six feet tall, and mixed heritage, she has been brought up in the Jewish faith, is bi-sexual, preferring men, despite her present involvement. She drinks expensive vodka, smokes panatella cigars, does lines of coke and has the morals of an alley cat. She is in an on/off relationship with Dov Jordan, her Israeli coach in the martial art of Krav Maga, the israeli system of self-defence. Tammy likes classical music, good food and is fluent in several languages. She is aslo a maverick risk taker, who nearly got thrown out of the Met Police after totalling the car of a man who'd cut her up and then given her the finger.

Dov Jordan, is extremely tall, ginger haired, good looking and a coach in Krav Maga. He lives off London's Edgware Road, near Marble Arch, and deals in antiques and objets d'art, either on his own account or acquiring for clients. What Tammy doesn't know in this first book, is that Dov is also regarded as an occasional asset by Mossad.

They say all books of fiction have at least one pivotal point where the reader just can’t put the book down. Can you tell give us one of the pivotal points in your book?
Hopefully the pivotal point in my book is at the very start, where, in the prologue the first murders occur. Another pivotal point where I hope the reader will be snagged, comprises an event where Tammy is attacked by a knife wielding giant of a man called Bear, who cuts the side of her head in the fight that ensues.

Can you explain to us why it was important for you to write your story?

Having written the horror stories I have I wanted to put together a full length thriller, and I wanted to use a real individual. I chose Tammy as I saw her as not simply an heroic character, but also as a woman with female issues She has high levels of testosterone, but is clearly all woman. She is is often seen as beautifal, but is occasionally mocked as being too masculine. She is unpredictable, to the frustration of Dov, suffers with Endometriosis, and to her surprise finds herself with maternal feelings.

Final question (promise!): do you have any advice for the yet-to-be-published writers?

The only advice is, if you want to, and like to, then keep on writing. Playwrite, raconteur, author and journalist, Noel Coward said, there are thousands of people out there with real talent. The secret of success is simply, 'staying power.' William Golding saw his novel about schoolboys runnning wild, Lord of the Rings, turned down by several publishers, before it eventually found a market and earned him the Nobel Prize.

Can innocence ever be an incentive to murder?

A quiet seaside town is thrown into turmoil. Tammy Pierre, London based private investigator, accompanied by her sometime lover, Israeli art dealer and martial-arts coach, Dov Jordan, has just been brought close to tears by police photographs shown to her by an hysterical Eleanor Goldcrest, at the home of three innocent toddlers whose brutally murdered bodies have been found on the beach at Lyme Regis.

Wealthy financier, Eric Goldcrest, alarmed that his partner of three years, together with the local police has him nailed as guilty of murdering the children, now retains Tammy to prove his innocence and find the real culprit. But has his involvement in all this been misinterpreted?

In this investigation, with no apparant motive or forensic evidence, Tammy’s skills will be tested to the limit. In a twist that muddies the waters, Eric Goldcrest, laments that he’s simply never made it clear to Tammy about his position in the family and his relationship with the children, all of which have been assumed by the investigation.

Interview with MaryAnn Kempher Author of MOCHA MOONLIGHT AND MURDER #interview

February 25, 2020 0 Comments

For many years, MaryAnn Kempher lived in Reno Nevada where most of her stories are set. Her books are an entertaining mix of mystery and humor. She lives in the Tampa Florida area with her husband, two children, and a very snooty Chorkie.

WEBSITE & SOCIAL LINKS:

Welcome MaryAnn! Your book, Mocha, Moonlight and Murder, sounds absolutely thrilling! Can we begin by having you tell us how you came up with that wonderful title?

MaryAnn: My main character has a love of Starbucks. It is her weakness. The murder happens at night under the moonlight. So, Mocha, Moonlight, and Murder.

What is it that drew you to writing romance?

MaryAnn: I’ll be honest, I don’t consider myself a romance writer. Mocha, Moonlight, and Murder is book one of a seven book series and is considered a romantic suspense. However, romantic comedy with a mystery sub-plot is more of an accurate description. The remaining books in the series are mysteries with a lot of humor.

Can you tell us a little about the main characters?

MaryAnn: The two main characters are Katherine O’Brian and Scott Mitchell. For their own reasons, neither finished college. Now, they meet in the last class they both need for their degrees. They start out as friends and become friends who fall in love. The path is bumpy and funny. While their love story unfolds, a mystery develops. Katherine has a stalker, the man she saw disposing of a dead body.

They say all books of fiction have at least one pivotal point where the reader just can’t put the book down. Can you tell give us one of the pivotal points in your book?

MaryAnn: I think that point depends on the reader and what they like the most, romance or mystery. When Scott and Katherine first meet, it’s funny and maybe that’s when some people become hooked. On the other hand, it might be when Katherine stumbles upon the killer as he disposes of his victim, which happens early in the story.

Can you explain to us why it was important for you to write your story?

MaryAnn: I don’t have a deep answer. I just know that once I start a book, I have to finish writing it. And once done, I feel so complete.

What are you working on now?

MaryAnn: Two main characters from book two through seven are getting their own series. Trust me, anyone who has read those books will be thrilled. These two characters are liked very much.

Final question: do you have any advice for the yet-to-be-published writers?

MaryAnn: Assuming the book is finished and you are self-publishing, pay to get it professionally edited and proofread. This can be expensive, but it’s worth it. Also, pay for a professional cover. Give a lot of thought to the back-cover blurb. The first thing people see is the cover, then what do they do? They read the blurb. So, both are extremely important.

All of the above, except the cover, still applies for those seeing to have their book traditionally published. If you are, and are lucky enough to have an  agent request a partial and then a full, you’ll want your book to be highly polished before sending to that agent.

One night, 28-year-old, Katherine O’Brian, decides to walk to an all-night diner. The only problem? It’s midnight, but Katherine lives in Reno Nevada, a city that never sleeps; she can clearly see the diner’s lights in the distance. It’s no big deal, until she passes someone’s garage where a man is loading a dead body into the trunk of his car.

And now, she’s in trouble. She outran the man that night, and while she has no idea who he is, he knows who she is. And he wants her dead.

As if attempts on her life weren’t stressful enough, Katherine has gone back to college. She’s determined to finally finish her degree, but her lab partner is driving her crazy. He’s hot, but annoying. And she’s not sure which she wants more—a night of mad, passionate sex or a new lab partner. It varies from day to day.

Will Katherine give in to her lust for her partner or will she give in to her desire to throttle him? If she’s in the ground before graduation, it won’t matter.
Not your typical romance, not your typical mystery.

Q: Thank you so much for this interview, Jennifer! Can you tell us where you are from?

I am originally from Fayetteville, NC, but I’ve lived in Pittsburgh, PA for the past 10 years.

Q: How did you come up with your title?

The title of my book is based on wanting parents and educational advocates to feel more empowered when they are in an IEP meeting or due process hearing. Parents often comment about feeling overwhelmed or out-resourced by the school and their attorneys. The title represents my hope that the content of the book will make parents feel empowered going forward.

Q: They say you can judge a book by its cover. Can you tell us a little about your cover and who designed it?

My cover was designed by Laura Boyle. I intentionally wanted more muted colors. I had seen other book covers from competing authors and didn’t like the bold colors or the whimsical/playful look. Parents aren’t feeling that way when they are at a point of needing my book. The table and chairs represent collaboration among all the people involved in educating the child, and the color red indicates boldness. I also wanted only one chair to be the color red to signify that the parent is now
emboldened with the information contained within the book. S/he will no longer be ignored.

Q: Can you tell us something about your book that would make me run out and buy it?

This book not only summarizes legal cases for parents to help them know how the court is ruling on similar education-related issues, but it provides questions to help parents understand the school’s defenses. I consider the book almost like a playbook in that parents will not only be able to create their offense strategy to get better results for their child but also know how to prepare for the school district’s defensive stance.

Q: Are there any messages in this book that you want the reader to know about?

None

Q: What was your most favorite chapter to write and why?

I liked writing the chapter on evaluations because it really allowed me to provide the right kind of
questions parents need to ask themselves so they can get used to thinking more like a lawyer.

Q: Why did you feel you had to write this book?

This book was necessary because many books were on the market giving case law summaries but none were on the market giving real analytical questions to show parents how they can use the legal decisions for their situation. This was important to me because every time I speak at a parent workshop, parents always want to know how can a legal case be used in their situation. I recognized very early on that parents needed a better toolkit. Also, research was conducted that showed
approximately 55% of parents represent themselves in litigation against a school district, while 100% of school districts are represented by an attorney.

Since only about 10% of the unrepresented parents won their cases, this seemed to be a necessary book to write.

Q: Now, some fun questions - What deep dark secret would you like to share with us?

None

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

Mozambique. I plan to go there in two years when I turn 40. White sand, clear water, and blue skies. Only other thing I will need is a drink (or more).

Q: Are you a morning person or a night person?

Morning. My eyes goes down with the sun.

Q: Are there any members in your family who also like to write?

No, which is probably why they’re so intrigued by my enjoyment of writing.

Q: As a child, were you a dreamer?

Yes! I used to daydream all the time about all kinds of things to do and places to go. I still do but now I put it on a vision board.

Q: Last but not least, the magic genie has granted you one wish. What would
that be?

To be anywhere I needed to be with a snap of my fingers. That way, I don’t have to worry about traffic, flights, or anything else.

Q: Thank you so much for this interview! Do you have any final words?

Dream big and plan well.

Interview with Leonard Bassed, Author of The Witch Port Video Game @leobassed #interview

September 23, 2019 0 Comments

“I begin to hear an eerie chant being recited in unison as the first three naked women make it to the dark summit. Holding long, makeshift brooms, in their right hands, they chant: “Drink the flight broth, wood in hand. Burn the root ...” An elderly woman with lanky hair picks up the goblet, takes a sip of its contents, and inhales the smoke of an already burning smudge stick. The chanting continues: “Then dive from the cliff...” This is perhaps the most startling scene I’ve ever witnessed. The woman runs off the edge of the cliff, seemingly to plummet to her death, but I hear “Not by wind nor by wings, airborne sisters thou shall soar.” Suddenly, the woman who vanished off the cliff reappears, hovering in mid-air on a broom. She begins cackling, and the louder her cackles, the higher she floats. Soon a host of other women mimic her actions, cackling into the night air.”
--From The Witch Port Video Game by Leonard Bassad

Writer-actor-singer Leonard Bassed was born in the town of Middleburg, Mpumalanga and raised in Johannesburg.  He started taking vocal lessons at age eight and studied drama throughout his high school years.  A mentor encouraged him to pursue an acting career.  Leonard went on to complete acting classes in both South Africa and later Los Angeles.  Currently, when not writing or singing, Leonard continues to study acting techniques with the renowned Margie Haber Studio in Hollywood. In his free time, he enjoys travel, reading and movie going.  His latest book is The Witch Port Video Game.

Book Description:

Leonard Bassed had no plan to write a novel titled THE WITCH PORT VIDEO GAME when he set out to create a movie script with a similar name.  “I had written the pilot script first and I kept the same ending for the novel…everything from the script I wrote found its way into the finished book version of ‘The Witch Port Video Game,’ said writer-singer-actor Leonard Bassed.  “I was able to spend more time developing the characters and their world…the whole thing was just such an organic experience and extremely enjoyable, creative for me.”
THE WITCH PORT VIDEO GAME tells the story through the lives of three ordinary teens who live in the fictional town of Cradle Creek, USA – a small town they hope to one day escape, attracted by the bright lights and promise of the Big City.  All three are students at a prestigious performing art school with hopes of one day making names for themselves in the entertainment world.
Mr. Bassed continued about his story, “A chance encounter the three have with a girl named Bianca Morris threatens to derail their plans. Bianca introduces them to an enticing video game, ‘The Witch Port Video Game’.  This encounter, coupled with the arrival of the MacQuoid brothers sets in motion a series of bizarre events that spins their lives into chaos and disarray as the three head into a world of sorcery with an ultimate fight for survival.”
As a young boy growing up in South Africa, Leonard dreamed one day of working in the arts.  He wanted to write, to act, to sing.  While drawn to acting and song writing, he was also a good story teller.  “The auditions I would go out for as an actor were never reflective of the kinds of roles I was after to play. It was this realization that led me to writing the pilot script which I planned to pitch to TV and movie producers.  But, once I finished the script I’d grown too attached to the characters and the wonders of their world that ultimately led the script into the shape of a full novel,” he went on to say.

Interview:

Welcome Leonard! Can we begin by having you tell us how you got started young adult novels? Did the movies influence you? Books?

Leonard: Thank you for this opportunity.
I have always been fascinated by magical realism. When the Harry Potter series came along, it resonated with me. The short answer is that I had the idea to write The Witch Port Video Game script in June of 2014 after I returned home to South Africa from Los Angeles, California, in the USA. While in the USA, I took classes at the Acting Corps, a place where I got the chance to meet and interact with interesting people from different walks of life. I guess this exposure sparked my creativity. It culminated in my writing a pilot script, which I’d intended to pitch for film/TV etc. However upon its completion I’d grown too attached to the world and characters I’d dreamt up. This ultimately led to my debut novel. Why young adult novels? Being in that demographic myself when I started it was perhaps an obvious choice. In a way this genre affords one a sense of play.

I have to ask – are you a gamer? Why did you write a book about a video game that went wrong?

Leonard: Magical realism sometimes appears far fetched I had to find a way to make it relatable. A lot of young adults are into gaming. What better way to include video game in order to ground it. To answer your question, while I enjoy a video game once in a while, I am not a gamer

Can you tell us about your main characters?

Leonard: The main characters in my novel are 3 normal teenage friends who attend a prestigious Art School, in the fictional town of Cradle Creek with aspirations of making it big some day. Their ordinary lives and plans are somewhat derailed when through a chance encounter with a girl at a diner, they obtain magical abilities through a video game. Martin Robinson an altar boy sort of character, he is fashionable and dotes on his 2 best friends Francesca Dubois and Makenzie Hollister. The girls are also very fond of him. Makenzie is very driven and wants nothing more than to rise above her social circumstances. Fransesca on the other hand is a prima ballerina from a wealthy home and is accustomed to getting her own way.

Where is this book set and why did you choose that location?

Leonard: The book is set in a fictional town of Cradle Creek. I wanted the anonimity of a small fictional town. This also allowed me to be creative and follow my imagination

They say all books of fiction have at least one pivotal point when the reader just can’t put the book down. Can you give us one of those pivotal points in your book?

Leonard: The pivotal moment in my novel is when martin stands up to and holds his own against the Mccoid brothers. He is cornered by the 2 brothers and is suddenly able to conjure up a spell that could have destroyed the two brother if he chose to. This spelled in a way a point of no return.

Will there be a follow up book to The Witch Port Video or other books in the near future?

Leonard: Yes, I am already working on sequel. The Witch Port Video Game – Igniting the Coven

Is there anything you’d like to tell your readers and fans?

Leonard:Thanks again for this opportuniy. I would like to invite the readers to come with me on this journey, much remains to be revealed in the sequels.

The Witch Port Video Game is available for purchase on my website: www.leonardbassed.com

Interview with Soren Paul Petrek, Author of Wolves At Our Door @spetrek_toche44 #historical

September 09, 2019 0 Comments

I’m not on holiday, she told herself, but it’s my first time out of Germany, and I’m not going to waste it. She’d wanted to help with the war effort, and now she had her chance. Even after the invasion, everyone back home still thought Germany would win—Hitler told them so, and the propaganda films left no doubt. Why wouldn’t she believe it as well?

--From Wolves At Our Door by Soren Paul Petrek

Soren Petrek is a practicing criminal trial attorney, admitted to the Minnesota Bar in 1991.  Married with two adult children, Soren continues to live and work in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Educated in the U.S., England and France Soren sat his O-level examinations at the Heathland School in Hounslow, London in 1981.  His undergraduate degree in Forestry is from the University of Minnesota, 1986.  His law degree is from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota 1991.

Soren’s novel, Cold Lonely Courage won Fade In Magazine’s 2009 Award for Fiction.  Fade In was voted the nation’s favorite movie magazine by the Washington Post and the L.A. Times in 2011 and 2012.

The French edition of Cold Lonely Courage, Courage was published January 2019, by Encre Rouge Editions, distributed by Hachette Livre in 60 countries.  Soren’s contemporary novel, Tim will be released along with the rest of the books in the Madeleine Toche series of historical thrillers.

Book Description:

The Allies and the Nazis are in a deadly race to develop the ultimate weapon while supersonic V-2 rockets rain down on London. Madeleine Toche and Berthold Hartmann, the German super assassin who taught her to kill, search for the secret factory where Werner von Braun and his Gestapos masters use slave labor to build the weapons as the bodies of the innocent pile up. The Allied ground forces push towards Berlin while the German SS fight savagely for each inch of ground.

Finding the factory hidden beneath Mount Kohnstein, Hartmann contacts his old enemy, Winston Churchill and summons Madeleine to his side. While she moves to bring the mountain down on her enemies, Hartmann leads a daring escape from the dreaded Dora concentration camp to continue his revenge against the monsters who ruined his beloved Germany.

Together with the Russian Nachtlexen, the Night Witches, fearsome female pilots the race tightens as the United States and the Germans successfully carry out an atomic bomb test.

Germany installs an atom bomb in a V-2 pointed towards London, while the US delivers one to a forward base in the Pacific. The fate of the Second World War and the future of mankind hangs in the balance.

Welcome, Soren!  Your new historical/action/adventure novel sounds thrilling! Can you tell us how you came up with the idea?

Soren:  Wolves at Our Door is a sequel to the anchor book of the Madeleine Toche Series, Cold Lonely Courage.  In Wolves, I wanted to directly address aspects of the Holocaust, the race for an atomic weapon and to feature Madeleine and her mentor in the field fighting together.

Can you tell us a little about the main characters?

Soren:  Madeleine Toche is a young French woman who found her way into the Resistance during WWII, helping Jewish children escape the Nazis.  Later, after she’s raped and has exacted revenge by killing the German SS officer who raped her, she escapes to England and finds her way into the British Special Operations Executive, Winston Churchill’s army of the shadows.

They say all books of fiction have at least one pivotal point where the reader just can’t put the book down. What is one of the pivotal points in your book?

Soren:  I try to keep the readers hooked from the beginning.  I have hundreds of reader and editorial reviews that mention, I couldn’t put the book down.  What a joy it is to read that and know that those readers will remember my books fondly.

In Wolves, when we first meet Madeleine Toche her remarkable talents, skills and courage capture readers who then cheer for her, worry about her and most of all wonder what she’s going to do next.

Do you proofread and edit your work on your own or pay someone to do it for you?

Soren:  I use Grammarly and have a professional editor who works for major publishers both as a freelance editor and ghostwriter.  Her name is Hannah Eason.  I couldn’t have a better fit for the way I write.

Do you believe a book cover plays an important role in the selling process?

Soren:  The cover needs to draw attention but should have a clear connection to the storyline.  I like covers that are unique.

What did you want to become when you were a kid?

Soren:  A Marine Biologist.  I loved everything Jacques Cousteau.

What is one thing you’d like readers to know about you?

Soren:  I want people to be happy.  If I can contribute to their joy of reading, then I’ve accomplished a great thing.

Is there anything you’d like to tell your readers and fans?

Soren:  I write for everyone.  My characters appeal to men and women alike.

About the Book:

Title: THERE’S SOMETHING YOUR SON NEEDS TO TELL YOU
Author: Vernon Ennels Jr.
Publisher: Xulon Press
Pages: 140
Genre: Memoir

Page six of Vernon Ennels, Jr. book, THERE’S SOMETHING YOUR SON NEEDS TO TELL YOU, reads, “I still remember his face, his breath, and hear his voice demand me to lie on my stomach. He would down my pants my mother so proudly dressed me in. And then my Superman underwear…When he was done, he walked me to school and warned me, ‘If you tell anyone, I’ll kill your mother.’”
Author Vernon Ennels, Jr. lived with the horrible secret of being sexually abused and ashamed for some 40 years before he was able to recently summon the courage to tell his own family. “Studies show that one in six men have been sexually abused,” said Mr. Ennels. “Most are afraid to talk about it.”
This book reflects the experiences of males, specifically black males, but encourages both men and women and those from various racial backgrounds to recognize the signs of sexual and mental abuse and to combat the epidemic. “My book,” emphasized Mr. Ennels, “is a mirror of my abuse to shed light on an on-going issue to inspire others to take immediate action when they suspect child sexual abuse. #Saveoursons is my mission to help spread awareness and spark change to save current and future victims of sexual child abuse.”
Forty-something Vernon Ennels, Jr. says his new book THERE’S SOMETHING YOUR SON NEEDS TO TELL YOU  is an “open letter” that prompts other men to step forward and share their very own experiences of child sexual abuse in order to save other young boys from the hands of an abuser.
My moniker ‘Save Our Sons’ encourages discourse and social activism to help boys and men who have been sexually abused,” said Mr. Ennels. “Many, many people believed these victims were lying, making up a story for attention. Since I am a certified ‘non-celebrity’ I wrote my book for every child abuse victim out there who is terrified of stepping forward.”

Q: Thank you so much for this interview, Vernon!  Can you tell us where you are from?

I was born and raised in Baltimore Maryland but currently resides in Arizona.

Q: How did you come up with your title?

I was holding a secret from my family for years. The title was driven by my desire to share my story.

Q: They say you can judge a book by its cover.  Can you tell us a little about your cover and who designed it?

The cover is a reflection of my past and my present life. You will see a younger Vernon and an older Vernon.

Q: Can you tell us something about your book that would make me run out and buy it?

Honest, raw, and completely vulnerable, There’s Something Your Son Needs to Tell You acts as an open letter that encourages other young men to step forward and share their stories about sexual abuse in hopes that we will save our little boys.

Q: Are there any messages in this book that you want the reader to know about?
At least one and six men have been sexually abused.  And many of them are afraid and ashamed to talk about it. This fear is heightened in the black male community where a stigma persists around sexual abuse and sexual identity that reflects a homophobic and hypermasculine society.

Q: What was your most favorite chapter to write and why?
The chapter about seeking therapy.  On my healing journey, I’ve developed an intimate relationship with God, sought out counseling, and found my voice. I am on a mission to expose sexual abuse where racism has led to toxic masculinity and silence around sexual abuse.

Q: Why did you feel you had to write this book?

While many victims turn to religion to cope with their trauma, many religious organizations have either perpetuated the abuse or swept it under the rug.

This book uses one experience to shed light on an ongoing issue and inspires others to take immediate action.

Q:  Now, some fun questions - What deep dark secret would you like to share with us?

At six-years-old, one young boy’s life changes forever…There’s Something Your Son Needs to Tell You is a compelling autobiography detailing childhood trauma. Against the backdrop of a hypermasculine and religious upbringing, this exhilarating true-life story details anger, resentment, relationships, illness, and reflects the psychology of many young males who have become silent about sexual abuse.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
I would travel to Africa. Would love to explore this continent.
Q: Are you a morning person or a night person?
I’m a night person.
Q: Are there any members in your family who also like to write?

This book is about my family.

Q: As a child, were you a dreamer?

Yes, I loved to dream.

Q: Last but not least, the magic genie has granted you one wish.  What would that be?

To develop the cure for healing all diseases.

Q: Thank you so much for this interview! Do you have any final words?
There’s Something Your Son Needs to Tell You is more than a book; it is a movement.

Inspired by #MeToo and Black Lives Matter, “Save Our Sons” encourages discourse and social activism to help boys and men who have been victims of sexual abuse.

This movement examines the intersectionality between race, class, gender, and religion. And acknowledges the silence around sexual abuse, specifically how it persists in traditional black households and how that puts black boys at higher risks of sexual abuse and/or from speaking out about it.

In addition to the book, There’s Something Your Son Needs to Tell You, being a vulnerable autobiography, it contains open letters from other young men who have similar traumatic experiences.

The goal is to encourage more boys and men to share their stories in hopes that we can shed light on this epidemic.

#Saveoursons will help spread awareness and spark change.
