I have to admit, I love to travel. The main reason why I wanted to read CRUISING THE MISSISISSIPPI was because I wanted to find out what it was like to ride a paddlewheeler. To be honest, I had never even heard of them before reading this delightful book and it sure didn't disappoint me.

It's funny how a tragic incident can change one's life. Both Sunny & Al were involved in a car accident. Although both weren't fatally harmed, it was enough for them to wake up and never take life for granted. Both loved to travel and they decided they'd better get those bucket list things ticked off before it was too late. Ocean cruises were added to their travel repertoire and ended up taking six ocean cruises over the span of a few years later.

And then they found out about river cruises down the Mississippi River. The authors have us relive their own incredible experiences booking a Mississippi River Cruise. I didn't want to put the book down.

"The Quarter is a genuine melting pot reflecting cultural influences from the French, Spanish, Sicilians, Italians, Africans, Irish, and others who have called this place home. And here we are, walking its narrow streets, soaking in its spirit. We take a turn, and there kitty-corner from us stands the Pere Antoine Restaurant. The place is packed, filled with noontime conversations as waiters squeeze between tables to deliver platters of seafood. Still, the host finds us a table for two."

If you love to travel and are interested in learning about paddlewheeling down the Mississippi and would like to learn more about what America has to offer along the way, you need to buy this book.

I give it five gold stars!
